Jessica Tinney, Miss Alabama 2004
Jessica Tinney, Miss Alabama, was favored 9/1 by Intertops.com to win the Miss USA 2005 pageant April 11th, 2005 in Baltimore. Unfortunately, she failed to qualify in the semi-finalist round.
Jessica is a Nursing student at Auburn University and a member of the National Dean's List. She volunteers at the East Alabama Rape counselors and Auburn Housing authority. An affiliate of Susan G. Komen NCA, Jessica fund raises for the foundation, which is dedicated to education and research on breast cancer causes, treatment and the search for a cure. Her ambition is to become a nurse anesthetist, and she hopes to work at a children's hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, where she spent part of her childhood.
Though she comes from a traditional family where no one cared about pageants, and though she didn't compete at all until her teens, she worked extremely hard to win the Miss Alabama crown.
Some women in the Miss USA system already have two feet in show business, but Ms. Tinney is concentrating on her studies. She's plans to become a nurse anesthetist, and she wants to work at a children's hospital in Nashville, the city where she spent part of her childhood.
Jessica Tinney hails from Birmingham, Alabama. She had competed in the state pageant on two previous occasions, placing third runner-up in 2003 and second runner-up in 2004. She had also placed fourth runner-up in the Miss Alabama Teen USA 2001 pageant and first runner-up in the same pageant the following year.

Even though Jessica Tinney is not a relative to me, we're very proud of her and the accomplishment and honor she has brought to the Tinney name. Good luck, Jessica!
